Black Band Disease Puts Great Barrier Reef at Risk

This coral in the Great Barrier Reef is vehemently affected by the Black Band Disease. In the subside region the white limestone skeleton is open, in the upper region the coral woven stuff is still intact. The BBD girth appears as a black band. Credit: Y. Sato
